Somebody once described some Gracenote coffee as a “juicy banger.” It wasn’t this particular one, but that description is definitely applicable in this case!

The Thiririka cooperative is comprised of just over 1,100 farmers in the Gatundu district, not far from Nairobi. Processing is typical for Kenyan coffees - fully washed in fresh water and dried on raised beds.

This coffee is layered with complexity in flavor, and has a luscious body/mouthfeel. Just behind some big jammy red fruits and citrus is vanilla, cake and ginger snap. We get really excited when a Kenyan coffee expresses vanilla. Don’t miss out on this one!

*This coffee, though intended for espresso, does very well with any other brew method. When we roast for espresso, we roast so that the coffee is slightly simpler, and slightly less forward in terms of brightness/acidity. Those qualities translate well to an espresso machine in our experience. If that's your general preference, try an espresso roast for your regular coffee prep method.
